Consultant Surgeon in Oral Maxillo Facial
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Consultant Surgeon in Oral Maxillo Facial for a prime South Coast UK location!
The Oral Maxillo Facial service at the treatment centre provides Dental Chair Assessment and Treatments under local anaesthetic / sedation, and Theatre procedures under general anaesthetic to meet the needs of adult patients.
The role is within an existing team of Consultants, Middle Grades and SHOs. The requirement is for 5 chair sessions per week, a mix of new patient assessment and procedures and includes supervision of trainees. There is no on-call commitment but post holders must be prepared to assess patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the RMO on duty during routine working hours.
Essential Criteria:
- BDS
- MFDS / FDSRCS
- Full and specialist registration with GDC and GMC
- Oral Surgery specialist listing with GDC or OMF listing with GMC
- Minimum of 3 year experience at Staff Grade level
- Broad general experience in OMF
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Able to conduct a clinical audit
- Operative skills for all levels of Dento-alveolar surgery
Desirable Criteria:
- Completion of SAC approved training programme in Oral surgery or equivalent
- IT Literacy
- Good time management
- Experience at Associate Specialist level
- Ability to supervise and train junior clinicians at SHO and SpR level
