Lead Diagnostic Clinician
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Lead Diagnostic Clinician position for a prestigious UK client.
The Lead Diagnostic Clinician will have full responsibility for coordinating the diagnostics services in the practice. They will provide leadership and support to all clinical staff and ensure that a high level of patient care is provided to all diagnostic patients within the Diagnostic Centres.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating and maintaining a diagnostics service in the practice
- Assess the clinical competency of radiography staff.
- The Lead Clinician will attend Clinical Review Group meetings, and ensure that representatives are present at Health & Safety, Infection Control and Patient forum meetings.
- Coordinate clinical staff meetings.
- Liaise with external organisations including the sponsors, Reporting Radiologists & sub contracted organisations to ensure contractual requirements are maintained.
- Liaise with the IM&T department in coordinating development of existing and future IT services within Diagnostics.
- Maintain and develop clinical skills ensuring that continued professional development of staff is undertaken whenever possible.
- Will be expected to produce a consistently high level of quality diagnostic images and have the ability to assess the images for quality and clinical significance.
- Experienced in a range of Radiographic techniques and be flexible in adapting to the requirements of the departmental Protocols and procedures for Radiographic practice.
- Ensure IRMER guidelines are adhered to in all clinical practice.
Requirements
- BSc / DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.
- HPC Registration.
- 3 years + Post-graduate Radiography experience.
- Experience as a within the NHS / Private/ IndependentSector Healthcare environment
- Previous Managerial experience in leading a Diagnostic team.
- Advanced radiographic knowledge, skills and experience of current trends in best practice.
