Senior Radiographer

 

Job Summary

The role as Senior Radiographer will involve undertaking a variety of Radiographic procedures for patients referred by General Practitioners, Consultant Surgeons and ENP’s. They will use modern CR and PACS systems to produce high quality diagnostic images.

This will require an individual to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in offering patients a high quality of care.  The role will require flexibility and offer the individual an opportunity to gain valuable experience of Radiography techniques and practice within the UK Healthcare system.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating and maintaining a Plain Film X-Ray Service to patients over the course of the working week.
  • Produce a consistently high level of quality diagnostic images.
  • Have the ability to assess the images for quality and clinical significance, which may require appropriate medical intervention when necessary.
  • Will be experienced in a range of Radiographic techniques and be flexible in adapting to the requirements of the UK based Protocols and procedures for Radiographic practice.

 

Requirements

  • BSc in Radiography and relevant/ DCR Diagnostic Radiography
  • Post Graduate Qualification
  • HPC Registration
  • Post-graduate Radiography experience.
  • Experience as a qualified Radiographer within the NHS /  Private Healthcare environment and ideally some experience of the Independent Sector.
  • Broad knowledge of techniques for Plain Film Radiography
  • Previous knowledge of CR / Digital / PACS Post systems
  • Graduate Qualification in the use of Ultrasound.
  • Understanding of good clinical practice and IRMER requirements
  • Specialist Qualification in MRI modality
  • Experience of analysing X-ray images and recognition of abnormalities that are present.
