Professional Registration
Many International Medical Graduates (IMG’s) would like to work in Australia as they see it as a destination of choice in the global medical arena. However, if you are a non-resident and are not qualified to gain medical registration in Australia, you might find it very difficult to cope with the red tape involved in getting a job in Australia obtaining the necessary medical registration and visa.
This is where Medacs Healthcare come in! Our staff deal with the various government and medical authorities to assist you through the complex process involved in ensuring you are accepted to work as a doctor in Australia.
Requirements
If you plan to work in Australia, you must have completed your internship year (or equivalent) and have at least two years experience thereafter. Ideally some of this experience has been in a comparable medical system such as the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, US, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia or Singapore. Other IMG’s will be considered depending on their qualifications, specific skills and experience. See the Australian Medical Council web pages on www.amc.org.au
Candidates must have excellent references and will be obliged to undergo thorough background checks. You will also be required to meet the English language requirements (See www.ielts.org) for International Medical Graduates.
