Living in the UK

United KingdomThe United Kingdom is an exciting country. The country has built a strong reputation for its diversified and cosmopolitan life attracting people from all over the world. There is a mix and match of cultures with more than 50 nationalities and as many as 300 different languages. As such one cannot help but feel welcome wherever you choose to live!

There are plenty of excellent universities and colleges, museums, galleries, theatres, restaurants as well as pubs, beautiful parks and open green spaces which will cater to anyone’s interest and entice you to come to the UK on a temporary or a permanent basis.

The United Kingdom is generally regarded as a world-class destination for shoppers both in terms of variety and quality of products, depending on where and what you buy. Fierce competition has brought prices down considerably in the food, clothing and electronic sectors. Prices do vary and it is always worth visiting the various retail stores as bargains are waiting to be found.

The UK has a fairly temperate climate although it can sometimes be overcast. We enjoy long summer evenings due to our northerly latitude and periods of fine weather can happen in all seasons. The weather can vary greatly from day to day, but generally summer (June-August) is a hot 14-30 °C, and winter (December-February) is a cool 1-5 °C.
