Lead Radiologist (Consultant)

 

Purpose of the Role

To be the professional lead, and advise on professional issues for Radiology in Diagnostics. To ensure the Radiology team delivers to appropriate professional standards, without compromising the achievement of key performance indicators. Take responsibility for the professional management of Radiologists.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists
  • Current and full registration with the General Medical Council (UK)
  • Appropriate specialist registration
  • At least 5 years experience as a Consultant or equivalent post with at least 1 of those years as a Consultant in the UK.
  • A complete and current CPD record and GMC Revalidation Portfolio

 

Consultant Radiologist

 

Purpose of the Role

This role is a key driver in the delivery of a newly established radiographic service to the NHS. To take an active part in the formal training of Radiographers and to provide them professional support and supervision.

·80% reading CT/MRI and Xray reports

·20% delivering procedures involving contrast agents

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists
  • Full unconditional registration on the GMC Specialist register as a Radiologist
  • At least 2 years experience as a Consultant Radiologist
  • Sound understanding of a number of imaging modalities
