The benefits of using an online revalidation portfolio

One way that nursing staff can keep track of their revalidation evidence is by using an online portfolio such as the RCNi Portfolio. With 52 per cent of people undecided on how they are going to store their revalidation evidence* we’ve decided to highlight some key benefits of using an online portfolio.

  • An online system, like the RCNi Portfolio, allows you to store evidence of CPD, reflective accounts, practice hours and supporting documents all in one place.
  • These online tools often allow you to easily track your progress against any of the revalidation requirements to see which tasks are complete and those that are outstanding.
  • Training you complete online such as the interactive self-assessment exercises on the RCNi Portfolio, count towards your CPD evidence and can be quickly saved in your portfolio.
  • Your evidence can be downloaded into a single PDF document which you can supply as part of your confirmation meeting. It’s also easily accessible if you are requested by the NMC to provide more information as a sample check.
  • Online systems like the RCNi Portfolio are simple and easy to use. It's also less likely that you will misplace documentation.
  • Your portfolio will be accessible from mobile devices and tablets so you can update your portfolio wherever you are.
  • It's also portable which means you can use it throughout your nursing career.

Our revalidation experts can support you through every step of the process from when you start preparing your evidence to submitting your revalidation application form.

If you regularly work with Medacs Healthcare, you will have access to an online portfolio through your free RCNi Portfolio account. If you're interested, please speak to your dedicated consultant to find out more.
