On the 10 July 2018, the NHS Improvement and NHS England issued a letter to all acute trust CEO’s and medical directors on a high vigilance restriction period regarding vaginal mesh.
The correspondence details a pause in the use of the surgical mesh / tape with immediate effect, with trusts requiring to support patients affected.
