Community Nursing

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) define community nurses or district nurses as ‘pillars of the community’.

Working closely with hospitals, GPs and social services, a community nurse provides a service tailored to meet the individual’s needs.

This service helps to protect dignity and maintain the best quality of life, especially for those that have ill health or disability. It reduces the amount of time needed in a hospital – an environment which many people feel uncomfortable and anxious in, especially for the frail and elderly who want to live a healthy life in their own home beside their family.

It also promotes an independent life and supports those following a hospital discharge who require additional care, or for those who have a terminal illness who are in need of palliative care.

Why work with us? Take a look at what some of our agency nurses say:

"Thank you Lisa and her team for the courteous, supportive, and professional service which I have, and continue to receive, in respect of my working as a Nurse Locum through Medacs.

Having been a member of several other nursing agencies over the years I am delighted to say that Medacs actually deliver on their promises to communicate, attend to outstanding issues, and ultimately facilitate a constant stream of clinical work within my clinical specialism.

The team's combined efforts make for a trustworthy partnership and also a pleasant change from the 'norm' when it comes to nurse agencies."
