Homecare Jobs

As a quality homecare provider, Medacs Healthcare can offer you a fantastic career in delivering homecare services to vulnerable people in their own homes.

Our homecare job opportunities are diverse and range from homecare worker jobs that centre on delivering personal care and domestic support to older service users to support workers that provide specialist care to children and adults with more complex care needs.

It doesn't matter if you don't have any previous experience in homecare, as we will provide full training and support. However, previous experience will be required for more complex positions and to apply for any of our roles you must have the right to work in the UK.

What does the role entail?

In addition to their regular duties of meal preparation, medication assistance, laundry and cleaning, bathing, grooming and toileting, they support with:

  • Preventing loneliness and isolation
  • Promoting dignity and independence
  • Encouragement at mealtimes
  • Gentle persuasions towards better health, such as taking medication, gentle exercise and drinking fluids
  • Listening, understanding and interacting
  • Guidance for staying safe, keeping warm or cool in changing climates

These traits help preserve the independence of our service users and keep their families and close friends reassured that they are receiving the best possible care available.

There are service users that have no close friends or family, so it's often the case that a care worker is the only contact they will receive all day. This makes the role of a care worker all the more important to the individual.

The Star Care Worker Awards

The scheme aims to recognise some of the outstanding work that you - our care workers, do on a regular basis.

How does it work?

Every quarter, our service users and office staff will nominate their Star Care Workers. The nominations will then be discussed on a call with management and a winner will be selected for each of our branches.

When selecting our Star Care Workers, we will be looking at those that go above and beyond, who make a real difference to people's lives, but we will also consider the following principles...

  • How we treat each other and the relationships we build,
  • Our communication - ensuring it's clear and transparent,
  • Taking ownership and accountability for our actions,
  • Being mindful on how we can work smarter,
  • Ensuring that health and wellbeing comes first,
  • Keeping the momentum going when it becomes challenging.

What does the winner receive?

Each winner will receive 100 points into their Care Friends app, a certificate and a 'Star Care Worker' badge which can be worn with pride. We look forward to hearing and sharing some of the amazing work our care workers do.
