Locum Band 5 Community Nurse for Early Intervention Team, Cannock, Stafford & East
The Early Intervention Team are looking for a Band 5 Community Nurse to support the team on a 3 month placement.
The Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team in South Staffordshire are looking for a Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner/Care Coordinator to work within the ARMS branch of the EIP service. The EIP team works with people across the county of South Staffordshire aged 14-65 who experience their first episode of psychosis (FEP) or who are at risk of developing FEP. The EIP team is divided into two parts, one delivering care to people who have experienced FEP, and one delivering care to people who are at high risk of developing psychosis (ARMS). The successful candidate would need to have had previous experience of working at a band 5 level.
The team is fully multi disciplinary, including consultant psychiatrist and associate specialist in psychiatry, advanced nurse practitioner, nurse prescribers, community mental health nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, youth worker, and a specialist employment support practitioner. Alongside specific nursing interventions with individuals and groups, the role also entails supporting the work of the team as a whole, and a degree of flexibility and initiative is expected.
The team provides input to people across South Staffordshire, working out of bases in Cannock, Stafford, Lichfield and Burton, as well as people's homes, GP surgeries, other public settings, and occasionally inpatient settings. Some of the work may be conducted at a distance using online video or telephone, but the team as a whole has needed to work face-to-face with people throughout the Covid pandemic and this is expected for the successful applicant too, therefore the successful applicant must be able to travel across the geographical area.
