Medacs Healthcare is looking for a Consultant Radiologist with a Specialist Interest in Breast Imaging to join a large NHS Hospital based in Surrey.

Salary scale: £84,559 to £114,003 per annum depending on experience - 10 PA's

Hours: Full Time, 10 Programmed

Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months (Locum Consultant)

The job is a full time post comprising of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), inclusive of on call commitment.

The purpose of the job is to provide a full General Radiology service for the Trust with a special interest in Breast Screening and Symptomatic imaging.

There is the option of working solely within the breast service or to combine this role with the General Radiology department. This can be negotiated with the Clinical Director prior to taking up the post.

The successful candidate would be joining a cohesive and motivated team of five Consultant Breast Radiologists, three Advanced Radiographic Practitioners, three Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons and three Oncologists in addition to the mammography, specialist nurse and administrative teams.

The post holder will be expected to take on an integral role in all aspects of breast imaging. While ideally, the applicant will be trained in breast screening, individuals with training only in symptomatic breast imaging will be considered.


  • Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
  • FRCR or equivalent
