Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine

Medacs Healthcare is looking for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine to join a busy NHS Hospital based in the northwest of England.

Salary scale: £45,124 to £77,519 for 10 PA's plus extra 1-3 PA's, plus Relocation package

Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months or 24 months

The post holder will provide clinical, administrative, supervisory, educational and training support for the day-to-day functioning of the department. The purpose of the post is to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient who attends the Emergency Department. The prime responsibility of the post holder will be clinical cover of the shop floor. A full shift system is operational to cover the department on a 24-hour basis. The post holder will be expected to participate fully in this rota.

Further duties include the provision of GP letters within 24 hours of the patient presenting in the department, teaching, participation in Medical Audit and designated management commitments as agreed with the Clinical Supervisor.

Hours of duty are 10 Programmed Activities with the opportunity to undertake up to a further two additional PA's per week. The specialty doctor rota is currently 1:11 and involves provision of a full shift system during the 24 hour period 7 days a week.

The post holder will be expected to work a 1:4 weekend rota.

Requirements:

• Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
• The candidate will be expected to have at least 3 years' experience post full registration with experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Certification in ALS
• Certification in ATLS, APLS
