We are looking for Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join a large University Hospital based in South East England.

Salary: £33,706 to £40,588 a year per annum

Type of contract: fixed term, 12 months or substantive

Main duties of the post:

  • To assist Therapy Team Leader in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Therapy service provided to patients within the clinical speciality on a day-to-day basis.
  • To take a major role for the Therapy team in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have complex and/ or chronic presentation.
  • To manage daily a clinical specialist caseload in the therapy field, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and treatments and to give highly specialised therapy advice to members of the MDT.
  • To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team
  • To be actively involved with training within the Department

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, discharge managers and discharge co-coordinators, nurses and HCA's. You will also work very closely with the pharmacy team and dietitians.

You will have access to supervision and appraisals to develop your clinical and management skills and opportunities to develop leadership skills through various training programs.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • BSc Occupational Therapist
  • 18 months postgraduate experience in relevant clinical area
  • Proven record of providing high quality intervention for high-risk patients
  • Highly developed clinical skills in relevant area
