Consultant Neurologist

Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Locum Consultant Neurologist position based in an acute, university hospital in London.

Type of contract: fixed term 12 months period

Salary: £88,364 to £119,133 per annum for 10 PAs

Job plan: Direct Clinical Care (DCC) 8.0 and supporting professional activities (SPA) 2.0

The on call commitment: currently approx. 1 in 20 weeks non-resident on call and paid at the appropriate intensity supplement and includes post take/ referral ward rounds

Applicants are invited to join a dynamic and forward-looking neurology department.

The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient services in busy, but well supported hospitals. The appointment will be 10PAs and will include 2 PAs at the Regional Neurosciences Unit. There will be 2 general clinics and 1 Epilepsy/First Seizure clinic and an Epilepsy/First Seizure clinic. The appointee will participate in the Regional neurology on call rota unless they wish to participate in the Regional HASU stroke rota instead.

The appointee will be expected to further develop neurology and epilepsy services, including a paediatric epilepsy transition service as well as contribute to the regional neurosciences unit.

The post will initially attract 2.0 SPAs. These are provided for personal CME/CPD, service development, audit, M&M, departmental meetings, mandatory training, appraisal and revalidation, and medical student teaching.

Requirements:

• GMC registered
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register OR eligible within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee
• MRCP or equivalent
• Broad experience in Neurology including Stroke
