Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Locum Consultant Cellular Pathologist position based in Yorkshire.
Salary scale: £88,364 to £119,133 per annum depending on experience - 10 PA's
Hours: Full Time, 10 Programmed Activities
Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months (Locum Consultant)
This is a full-time post providing 10 programmed activities (PAs), however applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply and job plans will be adjusted accordingly, and by negotiation with appointees.
The successful applicant will be expected to share responsibility with the other Consultant Cellular Pathologists for the provision of a high quality comprehensive Cellular Pathology service to the Trust. The post holder will be expected to undertake a minimum of 10 PAs, of which 1 PA will be dedicated to cytopathology.
There are lead pathologists for the various cancer sites for which the Trust is recognised in line with Cancer Unit Recognition, currently skin, breast, colon, urology, respiratory and gynaecology. It could be arranged for the appointees to take lead roles in an area of cancer histopathology, if desired. Weekly MDTs are held for cancers of the following disciplines: breast, colorectum, lung, skin, urology and gynaecology. A monthly Colposcopy meeting is also held. The successful applicant will be expected to share responsibility with the other Consultant Cellular Pathologists for the running of these meetings.
There is no formal out of hours or on-call commitment.
- FRCPath or equivalent
- Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of experience and competence in all aspects of the Pathology specialty
- Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
