Consultant in Medical Oncology

Medacs Healthcare is looking for a Locum Consultant in Medical Oncology (Breast Cancer & Acute Oncology) to join a large NHS hospital based in West London.

Salary scale: £93,666 to £126,281 per annum depending on experience

Relocation package: up to £8,000

Hours: Full time - 10 Programmed Activities

Type of contact: NHS fixed term contract for 12 months

Main clinical duties:

• To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality evidence-based Oncology service, with continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care (with administrative support)
• Attend and lead Acute Oncology ward rounds on both sites, providing oncological support to the AOS CNS and wider teams in the Trust
• Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties are required, and for contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate and continuing medical education activity.
• Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances

Job plan - 10 Programmed Activities

• Direct Clinical Care (DCC) - 8 PAs
• Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) - 2 PAs

Requirements:

• Full registration with the General Medical Council
• MRCP or equivalent
• CCT in Medical Oncology or Entry onto the Specialist register in Medical Oncology or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
• Wide experience in General Medicine and Oncology
• Experience in research
