Medacs Healthcare is looking for SHOs in General Medicine to join an acute general hospital based in South Yorkshire.

There are 5 below jobs available at present:

  • CARE OF THE ELDERLY (12 MONTHS)
  • GENERAL MEDICINE WARD (12 MONTHS)
  • DIABETES AND ENDOCRINOLOGY (6 MONTHS)
  • DERMATOLOGY/ RHEUMATOLOGY (6 MONTHS)
  • FRAILTY UNIT (12 MONTHS)

Pay scale MF02 - MC51: £34,012 - £40,012

Type of contract: fixed term 12 or 6 month

The Trust invites enthusiastic and capable doctors at Foundation Year 2 or Core Trainee level to apply for the above posts in their medical departments. These posts would be ideal for doctors who have just completed their Foundation Year 2 or doctors looking to sign off their Foundation Year 2 competencies.

The successful candidates will be expected to work as part of the medicine on call rota. This includes working standard days, long days, nights and twilights.

This post does not attract educational approval from Health Education England, but the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in local teaching/ training.

The key duties included within these posts are as follows:

  • The admission, clerking and day to day care of patients on the wards, as assigned.
  • Take part in the Acute/ General Medicine on call rota, including long days, nights and

twilights.

  • The examination, investigation, treatment and referral (as appropriate) of patients

presented within the department

  • The successful candidate will be expected to participate in regular appraisal and the

Trust/Department Clinical Governance Programme.

  • To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital.
  • To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the

request of the appropriate Consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their

colleagues both senior and junior.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible to the clinical supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Completed FY2 training or equivalent
  • A minimum of 6 months of previous NHS experience
  • ALS
