Medacs Healthcare is looking for middle grade doctors in General, Acute or Geriatric Medicine to work at a large, teaching Trust in London.

We have an exciting Registrar level opportunity for candidates who wish to obtain training and broaden their experience in general and acute medicine and specific medical specialities in a central London teaching hospital.

Type of contract: fixed term, full time for 12 months

Salary scale: 33,128 to £52,090 per annum plus banding and London Weighting allowance of £2,162 per annum

You will participate in a rota which will give you experience in general medicine and specific medical specialties based on service need. The medical specialities may include Acute Medicine, Care of the Elderly/Geriatric Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes, and Gastroenterology. There may be opportunity to rotate into more than one medical speciality based on need.

Job summary:

The main parts of the post involve the care of inpatients under the relevant medical specialty, working in clinic and outpatients, and performing the regular functions of a Medical Registrar. You will be part of a Consultant led team of other registrars and junior doctors and participate in daily Board rounds. There will be consultant ward rounds of new patients, with SpR led ward rounds of existing patients. There may be opportunity for interested individuals to carry out supervised outpatient clinics and MDTs.

The post holder will participate in the General Medical on calls or Acute Medical on calls at SpR level. Leave will be accommodated and you will have time to develop a specialist interest.

The Registrar will liaise with the consultant and nurses to allocate the day's activity appropriately.

The Registrar will be expected to assess and manage patients with the support of the consultant and using appropriate clinical guidelines.

There are multiple multi-disciplinary meetings between doctors, nursing staff, and specialist teams for the care of patients.


  • Full GMC Registration and License to practice
  • Full MRCP (Applicants with MRCP part 1 and 2 written with evidence of recent PACES examination will be considered)
  • ALS Provider
  • 6 months minimum experience of working as a Medical Registrar
  • General and acute medicine experience
