Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Locum Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology role based in North East England.
Salary package: £93,666 to £126,281 per annum depending on experience for 10 PA's plus relocation package up to £8,000 which includes 3 months' rent
Hours: Full Time, 10 Programmed Activities

The Trust is one of the largest integrated organisations in the country, providing hospital and community services to a population of over 650,000.
The posts will provide ample opportunities to develop the Diabetes and Endocrinology Service and establish our service on the research map.
A highly dynamic award-winning diabetes, endocrine and metabolic service which is a jewel in the crown for the Trust. The Trust have a team of dedicated professionals who provide the local area with a range of multi-disciplinary services such as paediatric transition, antenatal, thyroid cancer, tier 3 weight management services
etc. They have fully established endocrine unit with a dedicated day unit. The tier 3 services have been commended nationally by GIRFT and we are helping other units set up their service.
The employer have an award winning diabetes team which has won national awards for integrated community care dietary services. You will have full support of an established diabetes specialist nursing team. The Trust have the largest insulin pump services in the region and fully fledged lipid service is also provided.
The appointees will be required to provide skills in diabetes and endocrinology and will be encouraged to develop additional special expertise of their choosing (for example diabetic foot, bone metabolism, type 1 diabetes, Lipid services or Erectile dysfunction services) to complement the special interests of the other consultants within the Trust.
Furthermore, the Trust has been awarded the contract to provide tier 3 Obesity services along with the already established tier 4 services. The post holder will be expected to be part of this team and develop the service as required.
Duties of the post will also include undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The department encourages appointees to take an active role in the regional research network.
Applicants must have suitable training and experience in both diabetes/endocrinology and internal medicine. The appointee will share responsibility for all aspects of the Diabetes Service in the Trust and contribute to cover for acute medical admissions.
