Medacs Healthcare is looking for a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine interested in joining a large university hospital based in West Midlands.

Salary scale: £88,364 to £119,133 per annum depending on experience - 10 PA's plus relocation allowance up to £8,000

Hours: Full Time, 10 Programmed Activities

Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months (Locum Consultant) or Substantive

Main duties of the post:

  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of a Respiratory Service
  • To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management and provision of a high quality, consultant-led Respiratory Medicine service
  • Teaching & training of junior medical staff, and medical students
  • To actively participate in both departmental & Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance & audit. To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).

The successful candidate will be expected to partake in the on-call rota, working 1:16 weekdays and 1:8 weekends. Cover for the absence of Consultant colleagues within the specialty on a flexible basis agreed between the consultants in the team, for annual, study and professional leave.


  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
  • MRCP
  • Evidence of entry on GMC Specialist Register in
  • Respiratory Medicine and General (Internal) Medicine OR Have CCT or be within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview
