Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Locum Consultant Physician in Neurology and Stroke Medicine role based in North East England.
Salary package: £88,364 to £119,133 per annum depending on experience for 10 PA's plus relocation package up to £8,000 which includes 3 months' rent
Hours: Full Time, 10 Programmed Activities
Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months (NHS Locum Consultant)
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a hybrid job working across neurology and stroke medicine. The Trust is looking to expand its neurology service in collaboration with the tertiary Neurosciences service, providing both inpatient and outpatient neurology expertise. The role also includes duties within the hyper-acute stroke service in this very pro-active and research focussed team with participation in the out of hours reperfusion rota, conducted remotely via telemedicine. There are opportunities to explore areas of personal interest for the successful applicant including education, research or clinical leadership.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Neurology
The successful applicant will provide consultation on inpatient neurology cases and support in diagnostics, treatment and transfer to tertiary centres where appropriate. The applicant will also undertake neurology outpatient clinics at sites within the Trust.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support neurological learning across the Trust and develop neurology services available to the local demographic to enhance to experience of patients with neurological diagnoses across the local area.
Stroke
The successful candidate will form part of the wider stroke team looking after patients across the full stroke pathway from hyper-acute admission, acute care, rehabilitation and outpatient work. There is the opportunity to choose from within this remit areas of particular interest. The applicant will also undertake outpatient clinics for stroke and TIA services.
The applicant will participate on our out of hours reperfusion rota on a 1:6 basis. This is conducted remotely from home via telemedicine with support of our stroke specialist nurses.
