Client Name: Hywel Dda University Health Board
Role: Ophthalmology Specialty Doctor
Rates: Hourly negotiable rate
Shifts: 10 sessions per week and 1st on call 1:8 rota (non-resident)
40 hours per week with additional 1:8 on call delivery (1:8 weekday and 1:8 weekend)
weekday on call 17:00 till 09:00
weekend on call 17:00 Friday to 09:00 Monday
Emergency Eye Clinic, Triage, General clinics, Intravitreal injections and reviews, delivery of out of hours on call rota for 1st on call
Location: Glangwili General Hospital

Main Duties/Responsibilities
As an Ophthalmology Doctor with Glangwili General Hospital you will:
- Provide routine care, diagnosing and treating eye diseases and injuries as well as performing corrective surgeries.
- Manage emergency and specialist eye treatment clinics.
- Liaise with medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality treatment.
- Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain findings using a variety of methods to ensure practical understanding.
- Communicate with patients on shared patient decision making
- Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team
- Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
- Recognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
- Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications
Essential
- Be a registered Doctor.
- At least 2 years post-graduate experience.
- 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
- You will need to pass an enhanced background check.
