We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity that has become available for an experienced Histopathology Consultant to join East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust on a locum basis.

About the Role

As a locum Consultant in Histopathology, you'll provide expert diagnostic services and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pathology care.

Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology
• Managing laboratory services and ensuring quality control
• Supporting junior doctors and laboratory staff
• Contributing to service development and audits

Client: East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust
Job Title: Locum Consultant Histopathologist
Location: Ipswich General Hospital
Rate: £90.00 to £105.00 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Locum
Start Date: ASAP for 3 months initially

Job Details: On-site general consultant Histopathologist for 10 PA/40 hrs a week (Mon to Fri). Reporting cases only (e.g. no dissection/MDT typically); no remote working. Reporting general pathology but not screening programme work

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full with Specialist GMC registration
• FRCPath or equivalent
• A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
• UK Right to Work
• Strong communication and teamworking skills

Desirable:

• CCT in Histopathology (or within 6 months of achieving it)
