About You

Are you an experienced Band 6 with a strong interest in quality improvement and proven ward management experience?

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to support ward leadership, service quality, and continuous improvement. This role suits nurses who enjoy combining hands‑on clinical practice with leadership, governance, and service development responsibilities.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, supporting teams on the ward, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical support and leadership at ward level
• Support the day‑to‑day management of the ward, including oversight of care delivery and staffing
• Contribute to quality improvement projects, audits, and service development initiatives
• Support compliance with clinical governance, risk management, and safeguarding standards
• Review care plans, risk assessments, and clinical documentation for quality and consistency
• Support staff through supervision, coaching, and informal leadership
• Work collaboratively with MDT colleagues, ward managers, and service leads
• Act as a role model for professional practice, leadership, and compassionate care

Essential Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) with:

• Valid NMC registration (RMN)
• Ward manager or deputy ward manager experience
• Demonstrable interest or experience in quality improvement and service development
• Strong clinical skills in risk assessment, care planning, and crisis management
• Recent NHS experience within mental health services
• Ability to pass enhanced background checks
