Details: Start ASAP for 3 months initially, but potential to extend. Qualified Consultant Neurophysiologist required to assist with EMG backlog. Perform 10 EMG's per day. Job plan to be negotiated with suitable candidates

Job Description

Are you an experienced Consultant Neurophysiologist seeking greater flexibility and control over your working pattern? This locum role is ideal for a Consultant Neurophysiologist looking to achieve a better work-life balance while delivering high-quality neurodiagnostic services. You will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team with opportunities to contribute to service development, training, and clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Consultant Neurophysiologist, your responsibilities will include:

Providing expert interpretation and reporting of a wide range of neurophysiological investigations, including EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, EPs, and intraoperative monitoring (if required).
Leading the delivery of evidence-based neurophysiology services in line with national standards and professional guidelines.
Working closely with neurology, neurosurgery, intensive care, paediatrics, and other clinical teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Overseeing the quality assurance and clinical governance of neurophysiology services.
Supervising and training clinical physiologists, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Ensuring timely, clear, and accurate clinical reporting and communication with referring clinicians.
Participating in audit, research, and service development projects to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Contributing to teaching, CPD, and ongoing professional development within the service.

What are we looking for?

MBBS or equivalent medical degree
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
Relevant NHS experience at consultant level, or references to support your transition up to consultant level
Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for agency locum work)
A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
Strong communication and teamworking skills
