About the Role

As a Consultant Oncologist, you will join a well-established Oncology department, providing high-quality care for patients with Urology and Upper GI cancers while contributing to multidisciplinary cancer services, research, education and clinical governance activities

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist Oncology services with a focus on Urology and Upper GI cancers, including prostate brachytherapy
  • Support and supervise Oncology trainees, junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, audit and research activities

What We're Looking For Essential:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or CCT expected within 6 months of interview
  • Experience in Clinical Oncology with an interest in Urology and Upper GI cancers
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills
  • Commitment to teaching, quality improvement and service development

Desirable:

  • Experience in research, clinical trials or published work
  • Previous involvement in service improvement initiatives
  • Management or leadership experience

Based at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a major teaching hospital serving Norfolk, North Suffolk and surrounding areas. The Trust offers excellent links to research, education and innovation through the University of East Anglia and Norwich Research Park.
