Would you like to use your nursing skills to support and care for patients to enhance their quality of life in the comfort and security of their own homes? Could you make a genuine and positive difference to people’s lives by promoting their independence, social involvement, wellbeing and quality of life? Then you could find working in complex care nursing at Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT) a rewarding and fulfilling career path.
Like community nursing, Complex Care Nurses work in a community setting or the patient’s home. However, unlike traditional community nursing roles, a Complex Care Nurse provides care and attention to just one patient who they see at every shift. This enables them to get to know their patients and their families well and be more empowered to provide a high level of care, specifically designed to meet the needs of the individual.
Complex care nursing specialises in a wide variety of conditions and complex care needs, including brain injury, stroke, spinal injuries, neurological conditions, motor neurone disease, air management needs, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, physical disabilities, genetic conditions, developmental delays and learning disabilities.
