Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a Consultant Neurophysiologist to join its growing Neurosciences Network based at Morriston Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking Neurophysiology service providing care to a population of approximately 700,000 people. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services while helping to develop and expand Neurophysiology provision for the future.

About the Role

The Department of Clinical Neurophysiology provides a comprehensive range of adult and paediatric diagnostic services including EEG, prolonged EEG, ambulatory EEG, video telemetry, EMG, nerve conduction studies and evoked potentials. Working alongside consultant colleagues, physiologists and trainee clinical scientists, you will contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of Neurophysiology services across the Health Board.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led Clinical Neurophysiology services.
• Interpret and report EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies and evoked potentials.
• Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of healthcare professionals.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit and research activities.

Essential Criteria

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Neurophysiology, or within 6 months of CCT at interview date.
• Experience across a broad range of Neurophysiology diagnostics.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills.

Desirable Criteria

• Additional teaching or educational qualifications.
• Experience in service development, audit or research.
